Harry Reid gave an ugly speech after the election, and he continues to speak out negatively against President-Elect Donald Trump.
However, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.VA.) disagrees with Reid’s statements that Trump’s election has “emboldened the forces of hate and bigotry.” Manchin said, “he does not speak for me.” Manchin also argued that Reid is contributing to division in the country when we should be trying to unite, as per Washington Examiner.
“Senator Harry Reid’s statement today attacking President-Elect Trump is wrong! It is an absolute embarrassment to the Senate as an institution, our Democratic party, and the nation. I want to be very clear, he does not speak for me,” Manchin said in a statement on Friday.
Trump needs to be given a chance to run this country, but both the rioting liberals and the fear-mongering Democrats, like Reid, are refusing to give it to him.
“Unfortunately, there are some who forget that at times like these it is wrong to put party and politics above our country,” Manchin said.
Manchin stated this week he’d be willing to switch parties if the Senate was split 50-50. An MSNBC reporter stated Manchin would not commit to being a Democrat or not for the next two years. He will need to run for his office again in 2018.
Looks like Democrats are tired of the hate as much as the Republicans are. Now, honorable Democrats are scolding their fellows who have refused to let go of their hate after the election results came in.
We have called for the Democrats to stand up and take charge of their party. Their leaders need to spread the message of acceptance. It seems many in the party need a reminder that we are all Americans first before we are Democrats, Republicans, or Independents. Hopefully, high profile liberals throughout the country will follow Manchin’s lead.
The truth is, liberals, hate is not going to make Hillary Clinton the president-elect. Riots are not going to get you a second election, and violence will not bring about the change you envision for America. All it will bring you is tear gas and bean bags, courtesy of the National Guard.
Donald Trump is the president-elect. You may not think it’s fair because it wasn’t the outcome you wished for, but our nation holds fair and open elections. The people who voted for Donald Trump suffered under eight years of Obama, and no one needed to throw tear gas at us over it! We compromised last time, and now it is your turn. The rest of the left need to follow Manchin’s example and proclaim they don’t share Reid’s hateful sentiment. We need to stand together, as Americans, and give Donald Trump a chance. You can’t write him off before he even gets into the Oval Office!
